One of the most important lessons I try to help my clients understand is that potential alone is not enough.
Good intentions are not enough. Knowing what you should do is not enough.
Progress requires effort, organization, focus, intentionality, and the willingness to do what needs to be done—even and especially when you do not feel like doing it.
For individuals struggling with ADHD, executive functioning, learning differences, procrastination, lack of motivation, or simply feeling stuck, this can be especially important.
Here are some quotes that capture that message:

“If nothing changes, then nothing changes.”
— Jarred Kallen
“Nothing will work unless you do.”
— Maya Angelou
“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
— Wayne Gretzky

“Concentrate all your thoughts upon the work in hand. The sun’s rays do not burn until brought to a focus.”

“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”
— Mark Twain
“You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.”— Zig Ziglar
“The future depends on what you do today.”
— Mahatma Gandhi

“The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.”— Jimmy Johnson
“You cannot plow a field by turning it over in your mind.”
— Gordon B. Hinckley
“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”
— Theodore Roosevelt

— Zig Ziglar

“The difference between something good and something greatis attention to detail.”— Charles R. Swindoll

The goal is not perfection.
The goal is to be intentional, organized, focused, and willing to keep moving forward.
